Summary0003872: Display Settings is non-modal
DescriptionThe ``Display Settings'' dialog box is non-modal. I would like to see it as another dockable window that follows the item selected in the pipeline inspector.

Of course, with a "Display" tab in the object inspector, we pretty much already have the said dockable window. Maybe we should just get rid of the dialog box option.

We should remove display menu for now.

If the user selects the display settings, why pop up a dialog, just make the display settings tab active (the tab showing).

That sounds reasonable to me. I think we all agree that the separate Display dialog needs to go. But if the display settings is in the menu, why not both the parameters and information panels?

Getting to the display panel (or any other) through a pop-up menu when you could just click the tab seems a little redundant. I don't think anyone is really going to use that, but you could go ahead and add the functionality.
