Summary

0013046: Selection tools don't work for images

Description

If I open an image, the "Select points through" type of tools are disabled. It seems like you should be able to select a rectangular region of an image the same way you would select any other type of points. The benefit is the ability to select and extract a region and then rescale the colors so that the local variation in the region can be more easily interpreted.
