| Summary | 0015402: Need a more direct link from README file to git usage file | ||||||||
| Description | It is a bit difficult to find the git download instructions for ParaView (at https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/blob/master/Documentation/dev/git/README.md [^]). (The only clear way currently is through the Wiki.) To make this easier I have two suggestions. The first is to change the README.md to make a direct link to the Documentation/dev/git/README.md file. There should be a new section between "Learning Resources" and "Reporting Bugs" labeled "Getting ParaView" or something like that. In that section there should be at least two bullets. One linking to the ParaView download page, the other to the previously mentioned documentation file. The second suggestion is to add a link to the ParaView download page (http://www.paraview.org/download/ [^]) that points to the "ParaView Git Usage" page in gitlab. It is common for projects to have a link to git download instructions, and ParaView used to have one at some point. | ||||||||
