Summary | 0015801: In Paraview, point gaussian solid color doesn't change from white and transparency does not work
Description | I was displaying point data as point Gaussian, in Paraview 4.4. I tried to change the solid color of the points to something other than white by using the colormap icon in the toolbar and in the property panel, but the color remained white. If I changed the color to depend on x/y/z or another point attribute, the color does change correctly, but doesn't seem have any level transparency--even if I make the color transfer function completely flat and transparent.

There are two issues listed here. 1) Can't change color. This is because you have opened a multi-block dataset (even if there is only one block). We now color each block by annotated color. Try changing the vtkBlockColors to Solid Color. If it isn't vtkBlockColors, I misunderstood this bug. 2) Opacity in the Properties tab. This is a bug, but you still can change opacity on each individual block. Right click on your data, set block opacity. Let me know if I can close this bug. Alan |

In the information tab, it says it's an unstructured grid--I don't see a vtkBlock color option anywhere. Does an unstructured grid have vtkBlocks beneath it? Dan |

Issue number 1: right below the big blue question mark, top toolbar (right below the menu for Tools, you will find a pulldown menu that says vtkBlockColors. Change this to Solid Color. Issue number 2: Tested Linux, master, local server, OGL2. |
