Summary0004363: Crash when saving movie file
DescriptionOn my windows file, ParaView crashes every time I want to save a movie to an mpeg or an avi file. It works OK when I save to images.

I have not tried other systems.

Are you sure it crashes when saving avi? We can reproduce the mpeg2 bug under certain circumstances but not the avi one.

Yes, I am sure. I launched the debugger and see that the crash occurs in vtkSMAnimationSceneImageWriter.cxx line 220 when it calls abort. It looks like that abort was put in there for debugging purposes and was not taken out.

Ken, can you verify that avi works fine on your system now. Note that mpg is no longer available, since it was removed recently from VTK due to patent issues (cmake option is available to enable it, but requires external mpeg encoder library)

It works now, or at least it no longer crashes. The output, however, has some issues with length (see bug 0004413).
