There is no way to animate the implicit plane in the Clip filter (and similar).

What does the the implicit clip plane (or any 3D widget for that matter) have to do with animating the camera?

Camera animation is now supported.

Camera animation works now, but it is a little awkward to set up. In PV 2 there is a pair of buttons that allow you to set the camera position, click a button to record it, and then repeat. Should we re-implement this in PV 3 and, if so, should it be in PV 3.0 or should it wait until 3.2?

This is a problem, but it will be dificult to address correctly for 3.0. Let's punt on the usability until 3.2.
