Summary | 0005698: Chart rubber band zoom not zooming to selection |
Description | Often when you do a rubber band zoom in an X-Y chart, the zoom does not snap to the actual area that you selected. This is very noticeable when you make a very skinny selection. I think the zoom is maintaining the aspect ratio of the original view. It should not. Instead, it should adjust the aspect ratio to fit the area selected in the rubber band. |
Additional Information | See the attached animation for a demonstration of the bad zooming. In the first zoom, I clearly select the region between 0 and 100 on the Y axis (I use the gridlines for verification). But the zoom I get still scales the Y axis all the way to 800. In the second zoom I select a region between 0 and 1 on the X axis (again, using the gridlines) and this time the zoom is completely incorrect giving be from about 0.5 to 9 on the X axis. |
