Notes
Meeting with reduced attendance (most Sandia folks were at Viz. 2005). Attendees Rogers, Shead, Geveci, McBride, Richardson, Stimpson discussed transitioning from ParaQ 'Hello World' to ParaQ v1.0 development. Also discussed were several design issues raised by Elemtech.
Team Organization
Attendees agreed that team organization and division of work will continue as proposed in initial ParaQ Summit:
- Sandia
- Project management
- Sandia's ParaQ application
- Design of Undo
- Design of Testing.
- Elemtech
- General development of Qt classes for ParaQ client.
- Kitware
- Design and development of ParaView Server architecture and technology in support of ParaQ
Design discussion
Corey presented the ParaQ:API document. Discussion centered on the diagram of Use Case 1. The basic point of the design is to insert an object (the Object Inspector Controller) that separates the activity of the ParaView Server from the ParaQ client. There was significant discussion over:
- How many copies of data (properties) are present in this design? Can this be made more efficient?
- How does this design relate to Undo/Redo? (Answer: this design assumes Undo/Redo is contained within the ParaView Server Manager)
- How is Cancel/Reset implemented?
