Thanks for the idea about using GRASS to get to vtk. I have downloaded the software and will get to grips with it over a few days, but it does seem to offer the best compromise for getting data from NetCDF files to VTK format. I noticed it offers a quick input option via r.in.xyz which means that a straight export from GMT can be used; plus GRASS will let you load several layers to build a volume set.<BR>

It's the best option so far, but clearly we could really do with the similar options as default import in Paraview ..... well we can wish I guess!<BR>
