Actually I'm working with the XML-generated GUI elements.<br>
The benefits of writing custom Qt-GUI-Panels would the access to the <br>
whole power of Qt, if I read the documentation correctly?<br>
Concerning the second matter, this feature would be very convenient
indeed, yes.<br>
What about PV's feature of enumerating files of the signature
base_X.vti, is <br>
this applicable to base_X.custom files as well? If so, extending the
collection<br>
files type should not be complicated, I image.<br>
I will file the request, either for the .pvd-file or for both the
enumeration and <br>
.pvd feature.<br>

PVD does not support arbitrary file formats in the collection. It
certainly would be nice feature, however I am not sure it's going to
be fairly easy to implement. Feel free to add a feature request at
