I suspect a bug. Can you send me an example dataset by any chance?

-berk

On Wed, Feb 3, 2010 at 5:13 PM, John Schiermeier <John.E.Schiermeier@jpl.nasa.gov> wrote:
In lieu of using incorrect terminology, attached is a screen shot.
I'd like to color the surface by, for example, VStress, which appears
in the Variable box in Properties but not the pull-down box in the
toolbar. These are all element quantities, as is VonMises. No filters
have been applied.

Thanks again,
Hi John,

To make sure that I understand: you are trying to color the surface by a
variable but it is not showing up in the variable selector on the Active
Variable Control toolbar. Correct? What is the representation type on
the Representation toolbar? Also, did you apply any filters?

Thanks,
This is probably a simple question, but I haven't been able to find
the answer yet...

I've read in a file with geometry and results, checked the box for
all variables, and then see all the variables in Object Inspector/
Properties (e.g., all the components of stress). However, in the
variable chooser toolbar, I only see a subset of the variables (e.g.
von Mises stress).

How can I map all the other variables from the Object Inspector?

Thanks,
