If you are using Gnome desktop, there is a great program called devilspie that you can use to add window management rules. You could create a rule that says- minimize any new window with 'vtk' in the title. This might be faster than using mesa rendering.<br>

I am using pvpython for some python scripts to visualise CFD data.<br>
Unfortunately, I could not figure out, how to prevent windows popping up<br>
during the run. I assume that there is some simple way to tell paraview not<br>
to show the window!? Does anyone can give me a hint?<br>
