<div dir="ltr">Hi Stephen,<div><br></div><div>The "uname -a" command is showing that you have installed a 32 bit version of ubuntu (it should have "x86_64" for 64 bit). This is why the 64 bit applications are not working. It is possible to run 32 bit applications on a 64 bit operating system (with compatibility libraries) but it is not possible the other way around.</div>

If your system is actually 64 bit then I cannot understand why you are getting the "cannot execute binary file" error. Please can you post the output from the following two commands?:<br><div><br></div>uname -a<br>

Must be that I am missing some 64-bit routines.<br>
Are there any problems running the 32-bit binaries on a 64-bit machine?<br>
