This is looking like a very flaky bug (perhaps osmesa perhaps PV I
can't say without more digging). At least I was able to get some
decent looking renders by fidling various parameters ...

the broken depth peeling controls may be a separate issue...

I forgot to mention that you need to restart ParaView after the
setting change. Also, I attached my case comparing the setting on
(on.jpg) and off (off.jpg).

I am not sure if exactly same, but had a very similar rendering
problem with multiple overlapped opacity-mapped surfaces on
4.1.0. Turning on Use Immediate Mode Rendering in the Render View
settings solved the problem on my Mac. Now, I checked on a Windows to
make sure that it was a cross-platform workaround but it didn't
work. Anyway, you might give it a try if you still have not.

Hi All,
Transparency doesn't seem to be working correctly in parallel w/
multiple actors(see attached image, bad.png). The check box to enable
depth peeling and slider to set the number of peels don't seem to be
working either. the slider shows 4 and is disabled. disabling depth
peeling doesn't change the image at all. I see similar problems with
volume rendering w/ multiple actors. With only one transparent actor
things look potentially OK. Is this a known issue? Are there other
settings?
Thanks
Burlen
