<div>I don't really know anything about the xyz format, but if you write a series of csv files with numbered filenames each containing data for one time step, ParaView can read this as a time series and will animate it.</div>

the time steps and I am currently writing the data down to a .csv format. I also have the data in .xyz format but when I import it, only the first time step data is visible.
