Summary | 0010697: Locale-dependent number format in .pvd files
Description | I have a .pvd file with entries like <DataSet timestep="9.62917e-10" group="" part="0" name="" file="./s0001:fdtd-00001.pvtu"/> If a german locale (LANG=de_DE.UTF-8) is in effect, paraview reads the timestep as the integer "9" without any diagnostic. If I replace the decimal seperator in the data file with the german ",", like this: <DataSet timestep="9,62917e-10" group="" part="0" name="" file="./s0001:fdtd-00001.pvtu"/> then paraview reads the timestep correctly. If I leave the decimal seperator in the data file as ".", but start paraview with LC_ALL=C, the timestep is also read correctly. An example dataset is attached. Note that the Calculator filter suffers from a similiar problem; any number containing a decimal point is accepted, but anything after the point is silently ignored.
