0008596: (Venus - Medium) Ability to set time series plots with data from all time steps
Here is a request from a user:

"Here's another feature request. When setting the y-axis there is the option to hard-set the limits. There's another option to auto-set the limits. Unfortunately, the 'auto-set' resets the limit every timestep for a time series. It would be better if 'auto-set' found the min and max over the entire time series and used that for a single unchanging set of limits. Right now, I go into every xy plot and manually hard-set the limits.
Matt

p.s. I hope you can imagine how sore my clicking finger is getting considering the seg faulting...

This is a request we hear all the time for numerous filters. For instance, try using Can.exo, glyph filter, vectors - accl. Animate. It is junk. Furthermore, the user has to go through every single frame to find ranges. Worse, some datasets don't have the min/max on one frame, thus lots of manual steps and notes...

We should co-opt the infrastructure that colormaps use to do this when the user explicitly asks for it.

Changing to backlog, since I think it still isn't a bad idea. I probably need to look more carefully.
