July Build Goals

Setup valgrind (Amy)

Getting closer. It's an uphill battle.

Multiblock Client Delivery (Dave D)

The min/max filter is still not updated.

Animation GUI Panel (Clint)

It is now enabled. There are a couple more things to move such as adding and removing tracks.

Switch to new Exodus reader (Eric)

Fixed xml problem. Checks that block ids in metadata exist. That should fix some of the failing tests. There are a few minor UI tweaks such as resizing the tree widgets. Should be done in the next day or two.

Exodus writer (Eric)

Put up a test that is now failing. Eric has a fix that he will commit soon.

Fix Linux progress in client server (Clint)

Dave K. reports that this is working now.

August Build Goals

Clean up memory issues (Amy)

Started working on that. Asked some other people to fixed problems in the Qt part of the code. Starting to make progress on that.

Multiblock inspector (Dave D.)

Berk is thinking of changing the structure for composite data sets. We are waiting until that change is finished.

Volume render blocks of multiblock data (Dave D.)

No started.

Chart vector support (Mark)

No started.

Misc lookmarks (Eric)

Not started (except fix Amy's memory issues).

Frustum selection (Dave D.)

Partially in (as is threshold selection). Came up with a new design for how selection is going to work.

Fast temporal plots (Eric)

Almost done. Hope to have it working in parallel in the next week.

Global exodus variable (Eric)

Nothing yet, but will hopefully be soon. However, that it may not make it in.

Better labeling selection and datasets (Yumin)

Done. Now moving on to the new selection panel.

Remaining chart features (Mark)

(Includes context menu interactivity)

On the edge of finishing this.

SPCTH Issues

The SPCTH reader is working now. There is still a problem with holes appearing in extract CTH parts, but Dave K. has a workaround, so this is a lower priority issue.

Bug tracker update

There is some loser out there spending time finding security holes in, for example, our bug tracker. They created some scripts to randomly change bugs to have links to certain web sites. Our bug tracker is no longer really maintained. We are moving to a new bug tracker (Mantis) and Kitware is looking for a way to transfer the bugs from our current bug tracker to the new one.

New Icons

There is money left over to create icons.

  • The Exodus II reader could use some for the edge sets and face sets as well as edge and face variables.
  • The frustum and threshold selections.
  • All filters in data analysis subgroup.
  • Reload data (from changing file) and get variable range over time.
  • New icons for pipeline browser.
  • Save animation movie.
  • Save screen shots.
  • Camera properties icons. It would be nice if there was some indication that it is for moving the camera, not taking a screen shot.
