Everyone now agrees that it is best to keep Lookmarks and custom filters separate in both GUI and implementation. Custom filters will continue to be a special filter that is a composite of other filters. Lookmarks, in contrast, are a capture of state. They are basically the same as a state file with some of the state stripped out. In the first pass, the lookmark saving will be automatic but limited. It will save the state for all visible objects in a view and the upstream objects that contribute. Snapshot
Everyone should be ready for a snapshot by the end of the week.
Icons
Everyone likes the new set of icons, but they appear to be blurry in the GUI (even though the look fine in the image files). Someone will look into this.
Lookmarks
Everyone now agrees that it is best to keep Lookmarks and custom filters separate in both GUI and implementation. Custom filters will continue to be a special filter that is a composite of other filters. Lookmarks, in contrast, are a capture of state. They are basically the same as a state file with some of the state stripped out. In the first pass, the lookmark saving will be automatic but limited. It will save the state for all visible objects in a view and the upstream objects that contribute. In the first pass we will always include the reader and have a checkbox to give an option to ask the user for a new filename.
