[Paraview] read Comet/starcd ensight gold format

Hi, I'm trying to read a Comet (pre star-cd) case exported with
ensight gold format. Paraview crashes and gives me error like:

(I tried with PV 2.4v4 and also under linux and I have the same problem)

I read this is a known problem

but I cna't really see how to fix it. Where have I to put the patched
vtkEnSightReader.cxx,... files?
What does it mean "ERROR: In
C:\berk\work\ParaView3-release\VTK\IO\vtkEnSightReader.cxx, line 270"
when this directory doesn't even exist (line 270 of a file I can't
find ?!?!?!?!) ?
