Summary | 0014366: Special directories for file browser on Mac not what is expected
Description | The ParaView file browser (like what you get, for example, when you open a file) has a widget in the upper left with a list of special directories. This list should contain things like the user's home directory and other operating-system specific locations such as the user's desktop, the user's document directory, and mounted file systems. On the Mac, I used to get several directories including all those listed previously. However, lately I have not getting anything but some mounted drives (see the attached image). At the very least I would expect my home directory. The desktop and documents directories should really be there, too. Ideally, it would list everything identified as "favorites" and "devices" in the Mac finder.

Patch posted for review: https://gitlab.kitware.com/paraview/paraview/merge_requests/766 [^] commit 54c3427619abbe0cc13b3bf319e2b21947a55133 Author: Cory Quammen <cory.quammen@kitware.com> Date: Mon May 9 22:56:07 2016 -0400 BUG 14366: Restore some Mac special directories Restore listing of some special directories for Mac OS X in the file dialog. These entries disappeared due to some changes in recent versions of Mac OS X. This commit restores: - home directory - desktop directory - documents directory - mounted volumes Unfortunately, favorite directories are not restored. No current Mac OS X API is available to provide these entries. As a bonus, this commit removes calls to deprecated functions, solving bug 15893. |
