Summary0015229: Add ability to create groups of elements, nodes, blocks, sidesets, etc
DescriptionPlease add the ability to group elements, nodes, blocks, sidesets, etc. Lets say you have a car. Every part of the car is a separate block. You have a few hundred to a few thousand blocks. The user should have the ability to make all of the blocks of the engine one group, all blocks of the transmission a group. etc. This should be able to be saved somehow, so that the next time user reads the dataset, these blocks still exist.

I would say that grouping blocks and sets is much more important than elements and nodes.

You should be able to select the groups as we currently can select blocks. You also want to be able to toggle their visibility, opacity, color, etc.

A use case would be using bake.exo. You want to group all of the outside walls, all of the outside columns, all of the interior radiators, and the inside test object together. Then, you would have only 4 objects to load, color, etc. which makes much more sense.
