Summary0015767: Time display is insane
DescriptionThe time display has gone from bad to absolutely insane. Try ParaView 4.4.0, Linux with can.exo. Step one timestep forward to timestep 1. It shows as 0.00010007373930420727 units (Seconds?). This needs to be fixed.

Please add the ability in the Settings to change this format. Please make the default be the same as Sources/ Annotate Time, which I believe is %f.

Note - Please leave the full precision for time-steps in the Information tab.

Changing to 5.0. Reason is that the display does not show the time exponent, thus a user can't see what time they have if it is small. Impacting one of my users. If this isn't a small fix, OK to slip to PV 5.1

Alan,

I don't follow, you want full precision on the Information Tab, but not-full precision (%f) on the Time toolbar? Won't that be misleading?

I don't think so. If Annotate Time isn't misleading, then ditto the time on the time toolbar. Further, we are allowing a user to change it. But, we should have the full, painful, reduculous number somewhere - i.e., the information tab.

I'm moving this to 5.1. 5.0 is done. We missed that train.

Tested, didn't look like it was checked in.

Alan, see this: https://blog.kitware.com/change-the-animation-clock-precision-in-paraview/ [^]

Is it not working. Works for me with `v5.1.0-146-gc3dbc57`. Note, the default hasn't changed. You have to use the setting.
