Summary0003304: SNL: Off screen rendering does not work with compositing
DescriptionCurrently the off-screen rendering (making a movie) does not work when compositing is on. The problem is that this is when you want it to work the MOST. You have a BIG dataset you don't want to wait around 2 hours. So you do other stuff or leave your screen saver on. This needs to be fixed soon (yes I know there are issues...)

I believe that Francois' recent changes have fixed this.

My setup was to: run two pvserver processes with --use-offscreen-rendering and one pvclient. Make a 10^3 mandelbrot, contour it and animate the fractal's origin_cx from 0 to 1. Lastly I save the animation as an avi file through ffmpeg.

When I compiled on linux using the latest nvidia drivers everything looks fine. When I use the paraview code from 5-31, when compositing is enabled the only thing in the render window is the axis widget.

Using mesa with OSmesa works in either the current or 5-31 code.

Let me know if this is not the behavior you saw back then or if the code still appears to be broken for you.
