Summary0003960: selection crashes linux
DescriptionIn linux any use of the selection widget causes a seg fault (in the October snapshot at least).
The widget works in Windows.

Additional information on the failing setups will be appreciated. It works on the gentoo and debian (both x86) machines that I develop on. Particularly useful would be any display information that you can gather (glxinfo).

I now disable surface selection when the color depth is < 8,8,8. I added bug 0004536 which is a request for changing the color buffer selection code to adapt the number of rendering passes to deal with lower color resolution. I plan to fix this for ParaView3.2.
