Summary0005978: Optional color by vector or tensor components needed
DescriptionI have a user that would like to be able to color by any of the scalar values of a vector or tensor. Thus, we need to add some type of a user selected checkbox, either on the display tab or on the edit/ settings (or view settings) tab to allow a user to see and color by vector or tensor components.

can.exo, DISPL variable shows this well.

We really need this in 3.4.

The component to color by for any multi-component array (such as vectors, tensors) can be choosen from the "Color Scalar Editor" (popped-up by clicking "Edit Color Map" button on the Display Tab). The "Color Scale" tab on this dialog has a "Component " combo-box which allows the user to choose the component. Is that what you are looking for?

The comment in the notes is correct - although slightly hard to find, this is exactly the solution for this bug.

Marking it fixed.
