Talk:High Level Usability Goals

One of the usability problems I have with ParaView is that access to object parameters is non-uniform. For example, to access a parameter of a filter, I choose the filter from the list in the selection window and change values in the parameter page. If I want to access a lookup table, I used to have to find the associated source and from the source display page, push "Edit color map". Wouldn't it be easier if I went to a tab in the selection window and saw a list of all lookup tables I could edit? Similarly, all implicit functions (used in cuts, clips etc), all 3d widgets (probe lines, streamline seeds), all dislays, all plots etc etc.
