The new chart options dialog allows the user to add a chart title and axis titles. I didn't automatically put a title on any of the exes since there could be several variables plotted on one axis.

These options should be moved away from Edit -> Settings. They should accessed in much the same way that the camera settings in 3D views are accessed (through a button in the view's bar). The Edit->Settings dialog should remain application-specific settings.

The active chart view options are accessed in the same way as the active render view options. If we move the chart options, do we want to move the render options too? We should have some menu item to open the active view options along with the button on the view title bar. I was thinking of using edit -> active view options. Any other suggestions?

Currently there are no application settings. When we do have them, they should be accessed using tools -> options on windows. Where they should go on linux is a little more vague, but edit -> preferences seems to be the convention. Qt mac automatically moves the menu option from these places to the application -> settings menu item.

I agree that the current set of options under Edit -> Settings is disorganized. I find it painful to change things like the background color and axes annotation in this menu. On the contrary, things like LOD, Server properties, and mouse bindings for camera movement should be system-wide settings, even if the actual implementation places them in individual views. However, this is too big of a task to take on right now, so lets just leave it alone.

I noticed that someone changed the Settings menu entry to Active View. Please change it back to Settings.

I believe this one is finished. There is a button on the view to access the view settings. See bug 0005569 for the remaining application/render view separation.
