Summary0007837: Save Screenshot and Save Animation fails with big target
DescriptionParaView trunk. Local ParaView.
Open can.exo. Rotate so you can see the can.
Wireframe.
File/ Save Screenshot/ 4096X4096 - OK.
Save as .jpg (any output type fails).
Open up the output file.
Notice the additional lines.

I am marking this important, since we have no way to create large wire frame images.

It looks right to me. Are you sure you are not confusing the wires from the front and back surfaces of the thin can?

Check the attached .png. Be sure to full screen it - otherwise there are aliasing artifacts.

Oh, forgot - any output picture file type shows this error. My description above is slightly unclear. For instance, I attached a .png as an example of the problem.

Odd. I cannot replicate the problem. I have tried the 3.4.0 release and a semi-recent CVS snapshot (about a week ago, I think). What version are you using? On what platform? Is it client/server?

Windows XP, local server.
It was the October 16th pull. I don't think it is just my machine - we are replicating it other places.

The issue may have something to do with OpenGL implementation. A long long time ago I had run into this with Mesa (I think).

We are rendering wireframe by rendering polygons with FILL_MODE set to (GL_LINES). In some implementations of OpenGL, in this case, if a polygon is clipped by the viewport then OpenGL renders a false polygon edge at the viewport boundary.

Now it looks right. Wonder if it is my newer computer or a change in ParaView. Tested local server, Windows client, trunk.
